Anonymous asked: Why do you always tell people to use water-based lube with toys?

OK, so water-based lubricant is safe to use with just about anything (although some lubes have nasty things like glycerin and other chemicals in them that can irritate sensitive skin, so check the ingredients first).

Water-based lube is safe to use with latex condoms (which are damaged by oil-based lubricants such as KY jelly) and silicone toys. ┬áSilicone-based lubricants, on the other hand, damage silicone toys, so you shouldn’t use that kind of lube with toys that feature silicone, although you can use it with, for example, stainless steel and glass toys.
